most richly blessed

sometimes i wonder when things go so wrong,
has God forsaken and left me alone?
then i remember through trials and distress,
he's always with me.
i'm most richly blessed.

i asked God fer strenght,that i might achieve,
i was made weak,that i might learn humbly to obey,
i asked fer health,that i might do greater things,
i was given infirmity,that i might do bettter things,
i asked fer riches,that i might be happy,
i was given poverty,that i might be wise.

i asked fer power,that i might have the praise of woman,
i was given weakness,that i might feel the need of God,
i asked fer all things,that i might enjoy life,
i got nothing that i asked fer-but everythings
that i had hoped fer,and almost despite myself,
my unspoken prayers were answered.
he's always with me,
i'm most richly blessed.
